Ralph Nader has launched an exploratory committee for yet another presidential campaign. I hate Ralph Nader. If he had dropped out of race in 2000, Bush would never have been elected. So I childishly submitted the following 'web site problem' report on the committee's web site. The funny thing is, they responded to me, thanking me for bringing the problem to their attention. I know it was probably an auto-generated response, but it's still made me giggle. Below is my problem report and the web master's response. (I've removed my name and home email address, but everything else is copy and paste).

I'm sure by now that Ralph Nader knows any vote for him is a vote that could have gone to a Democrat, and a de facto vote for the Republican candidate. I'm sure he recognizes that he risks being remembered as little more than the spoiler for the Democrats, who helped George Bush win the Presidency. It must be a mistake that Ralph Nader wants to run for the President again! Perhaps it is just a typo. I'm sure Nader simply wanted to "explore" ways that he can support Barack Obama and actually help right the wrongs of corporate America, rather than perpetuating them by helping the Republicans win. Please correct this error.

I know some of you like to say that there isn't any difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. Tell it to the Americans and the Iraqis who died in Bush's war in Iraq. A war which would never have been waged, if every Nader voter had instead voted for Gore. There really is a difference between the parties, and that difference really matters.

Actually, I thought my "canned" response was much funnier than your rather dull letter.
;-P

Oh, and by the way Mathew, you were about the 100th person who thought of that "witty" response. So much for being an original.
Cheers,
Phillip.

Phillip,
I agree with you. As I clearly said in my post, I thought my letter was childish, and that your canned response was, in fact, the thing which I thought was funny.
Regarding the 100 other "witty" responses, I wasn't really aiming for originality. I included a link so others could do the same. It's a pity I was only the 100th. I do hope 1000s more follow.
BTW - I'd bet that every single one of those jokes was made by a Democrat. Republicans love Ralph Nader. They view Nader the way we (Dems) view Mike Huckabee: as an easy target.
Regarding the dullness of my letter, I wasn't really aiming to amuse you with novelty. Nor, I imagine, were the 100 others you mentioned, who apparently made the same (mildly witty, at best) joke at your expense.
My aim was and is, to express my revulsion at another potential presidential run by Ralph Nader. Ralph Nader had the opportunity to influence the platform of the Democratic party and defeat George Bush. Instead, he decided to stay in a race which he had no chance of winning, drawing off enough liberal votes to put George Bush in the white house.
